She sells seashells


I originally made this graphic for a black and white page in the West Side Story, back in the days when we didn’t have all color issues (last year). It was pretty fun to make this because imperfection was the key to making it look good- when I tried to make the seashell with perfect lines and points, it looked too stiff. Quickly placing anchor points and making the shapes less uniform gave the graphic a more realistic look. Although this graphic is simple, but not boring. The pastel yellow gives the piece a pop of color and reminds me of a warm day on the beach, which sounds amazing on a cold day like today…
